Italian SAMBO Championships Held in Riccione
The Adriatic Riviera city of Riccione played host to the Italian SAMBO Championships on March 8th. Athletes across different age categories – cadets, youth, juniors, and seniors – competed on the mats of the Riccione Play Hall.
The tournament was organized by Federkombat, which ran three national championships simultaneously across the disciplines under its umbrella: SAMBO, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. The event drew considerable attention both inside and outside the arena, with fans packing the stands and sports enthusiasts tuning in to follow the action live online.

As noted by Roberto Ferraris, the head of Italian SAMBO, this year's national championship saw a significant surge of new athletes – particularly in the cadet and youth categories. Bouts in these age groups were marked by a high level of competition, reflecting the growing depth and development of SAMBO among the country's younger generation.

The final results brought several promising names to the fore. These athletes are now the leading contenders for spots on the national team ahead of the upcoming European and World SAMBO Championships.
