Regulations Published for the World Masters SAMBO Championships in Cyprus

The World Masters SAMBO Championships will take place on 20-21 November in Limassol, bringing together experienced sambists from around the world. The competition will be held in Sport SAMBO among men aged 35 and over. The tournament regulations have been published in the FIAS calendar.

The Apollon Limassol Basketball Stadium has been selected as the competition venue. Athletes will compete in seven age categories: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65 and over 65. Each age group will feature six weight categories – up to 64, 71, 79, 88, 98 and over 98 kg.

National SAMBO Federations are required to submit preliminary applications to the Organizing Committee by 2 November 2026. Further details on the terms of participation are available in the competition regulations.

The World Masters Championships traditionally bring together experienced sambists, giving them the opportunity to return to the international mat, test their skills and compete for the title of world champion.
